Q. Is there a way to style my hair so I can stretch out the time between color appointments? I have a side part now. Beverly Stubblefield; Branson, MO
A. If your color involves covering gray or something high-lift, like blonde highlights, then you may have more trouble trying to camouflage those tell-tale roots. But if your color-choice and level are close to your natural hair hue, you might try a swing part. Just comb your hair from the top of your crown forward, then sweep it across one side of your forehead. By creating a deep, sweeping bang it’s almost as if you had no part at all. If your hair doesn’t agree with the new style, try back-combing the root area first. The extra added volume picks the new (darker or grayer) growth off your head, making the difference between it and the older color appear less stark.

I have dark brown hair well the gray is taking over and it seems like ever three weeks I am coloring my hair. I go to a stylist at Regis in Florence, I have an appointment tomorrow. I was thinking about instead of coloring I was thinking like gray or silver highlights do you have any pictures?
