While perusing an article about 30 Hot Stars Under 30 on iVillage.com, I was excited to see a trend I LOVE in men’s hair gaining in popularity. It’s a post World War II-inspired style that’s cut close on the sides and back, then gives way to more length on top. Actors Shia Labeouf (at left) and Channing Tatum, not to mention singer/dreamboat Adam Levine all sport versions of this look to excellent effect. Because of the way it’s combed— it can be parted on one side or brushed straight back—this coif could be categorized as geeky to some but I disagree. Just style the top messy for a rock ’n roll look. Or, if longer hair is your thing, keep the same proportions as described above but add a bit more length all over. (Think Elvis’ disheveled pompadour in Jailhouse Rock). And while celebs do seem to wear this style especially well, in my professional opinion it looks equally amazing on those who live their lives out of the spotlight, too.
