From small pops of color and rainbow ombres to entirely colored locks, dye jobs got truly bright this summer. And while Katy Perry and Lady Gaga may consider themselves veterans when it comes to sporting over the top hues and wigs, we’re firm believers that dying your hair every shade under the sun is not as easy as it looks and definitely not for everyone.

Which brings us to Kelly Osbourne and her pale lavender hair. While some celebrities go for entertaining hair colors (see: Nicki Minaj), Osbourne’s is actually inspiring.  Watching her walk the red carpet at the Emmys last night and made us want to immediately head to the salon to get her look (except that her salon sessions reportedly last up to eight hours!) Her lavender locks matched her custom dress beautifully and we loved how the dark lipstick and nail polish really popped against the lighter colors. Her shade is uniquely elegant—who would have thought? Well done!
