These days not much surprises us when it comes to celebrity hair—blonde one day, blue the next (see Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj). But we were surprised to discover that several big name, brunettes out there are actually natural blondes. For starters, check out Sofia Vergara. The latina star told SELF magazine in 2010, “I felt a little too much as a blonde, like a big-mouth version of Pamela Anderson. Being brunette toned me down a bit.” Another natural blonde gone to the dark side is Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester, who colored her hair for her role as Blair Waldorf. However, being a brunette appears to suit her so much that she has stuck with the change as well. Olivia Wilde is another one for the list, having told the New York Observer in 2007, “I feel like a brunette. I feel like people treat me now how I should be treated.” And Emma Stone is in fact not a red head, though she totally rocks it. She’s a natural blonde, too!

But of course, there are many celebrities who have gone the more expected route, from brunette to blonde. Case in point: Gwyneth Paltrow has been platinum blonde for so long that we totally forgot she’s naturally closer to a brunette.  And not that we believed Lady Gaga was born with platinum blonde locks, but her hair color is actually a much darker brown than you might expect.
