One of our editors tried out the Pür Minerals eye shadow primer and here’s what she had to say:

I’ve always felt that eye shadow is great…in theory. Every time I’ve used, it looks pretty for the first hour or so and then, shortly after, starts to fade away, wipe  or melt off. Admittedly there’s also been  times when I forget about it and rub my eye only to discover a whole lot of shimmer on my fingers. But even on nights when I do remember it’s there, I feel it doesn’t last too long and, consequently, not worth the effort.

When I found out Pür Minerals has a Cease Crease Eye Shadow Primer ($18, Regis Salons), I was skeptical but figured it was worth a shot so I wore it to work. If my eye shadow lasted all day long—from the moment I left my apartment to the moment I returned—I’d give eye shadow another chance..

Before I put anything on my face, I prepped my eyes with a small amount  of the cream primer on my eyelids (it spreads easily so you only need a little) and then a dab under my eyes.  I then applied the rest of my makeup as normal and added in some natural-looking eye shadow.

I’ll be honest—I rubbed my eyes a couple of times during the day and would rush to the bathroom to try to prove this primer wrong. But the eye shadow held strong all day long.
