Redken Creative Consultant Guido created this sophisticated updo for the Yves Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2012 show by applying satinwear 02 ultimate blow-dry lotion to damp hair and rough drying, then raking full frame 07 all-over volumizing mousse through the hair with his fingers (to add a rich texture, said the stylist) and tying it all back with an elastic. He twisted the hair into a low chignon, securing it with a gold barrette to create a “cast” for the bun, and finished with pure force 16 non-aerosol fixing spray and shine flash 02 glistening mist for a rich, shiny finish. “YSL has such a heritage that it’s always its own reference. This is a very glamorous, very womanly woman. It’s a wet look hairstyle, with all of the hair kept away from the face, like an actress,” said Guido of the finished style.
