Redken Creative Consultant Guido created two versions of a French twist for the Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton spring/summer 2012 shows. At Marc Jacobs, the look was, “inspired by Sweet Charity and resembles a 1960s girl who was dancing all night,” said the stylist. Meanwhile, at Louis Vuitton, Guido took his Marc Jacobs look and evolved it such that the texture was dryer and pieces were left out for a punkier effect. Here, how he created both:

Marc Jacobs:

Apply satinwear 02 ultimate blow-dry lotion to damp hair and rough dry to add texture. Create a small left side part about an inch back from the hairline and pull the hair into a French twist secured with bobby pins. Spray extra generously with forceful 23 super strength finishing spray for hold and a wet look. Comb bangs (if you have them) close to the head and secure with a few bobby pins.

Louis Vuitton:

Work aerate 08 all-over bodifying cream-mousse into damp hair and blow-dry. Apply wool shake 08 gel-slush texturizer throughout for texture and a matte finish. Wind hair into a French twist, pulling out a few pieces in back. Finish with fashion work 12 versatile working spray and a headband.
