Earth Day 2012 is April 22nd. You can show your appreciation for our planet by doing something positive for the environment—like switching to a haircare brand with less wasteful packaging.
Pureology makes it easy. Since February, its 250ml bottles of shampoo and conditioner boast new Zero Waste Packaging. In a nutshell: You get the same highly concentrated ZeroSulfate cleansers and moisturizers your hair is used to, but now the bottles are made with 50% post-consumer recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE) materials for unparalleled safety and environmental sustainability (for those keeping track, that’s double the amount of PCR used before). What’s more, for secondary packaging, Pureology decreased the amount of cardboard, using Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified cardboard boxes made from 100% recycled fibers. And the company added educational messages to these boxes, reminding purchasers to recycle the box and providing tips on how they can conserve water. Each bottle is said to provide over 70 uses. And when you’re done, simply recycle them—but you knew that already!
