Redken Creative Consultant Guido whipped up two versions of long, loose and textured hair for the Prada and Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2012 collections. At Prada, he used hot sets 22 thermal setting mist and a one-inch curling iron to create deliberate ringlets that delivered a decidedly girlish look. “It’s kind of homemade,” he said. “The hair of a woman with a David Lynch darkness. But she is, overall, a Prada woman because there is a refinement to her quirkiness.” Meanwhile, at sister brand, Miu Miu, the looks was similarly sculpted but the texture was wavy—achieved by allowing warm hair to set in a knot before letting it loose. “We used a similar texture seen in Milan at Prada as a reference for today,” said Guido. “The hair is down with a few waves in the front and in the back. It’s finished with forceful 23 so you know there’s something in it. ”

Here, how-tos for both:

Guido applied satinwear 02 ultimate blow-dry lotion to damp hair before rough drying it. Next, he added a clean left side part and secured it with a bobby pin on the right side. He tucked the hair behind the ears before sectioning the back, then applied hot sets 22 thermal setting mist to the hair and curled it with a one-inch iron. He left the ringlets intact and spritzed fashion work 12 versatile working spray on the crown to create a slicker look without flyaways.

For this look, Guido began by applying velvet gelatine 07 cushioning blow-dry gel to damp hair and rough drying. While the hair was still warm from the dryer, he pulled it into a knot at the occipital bone and let it set for 15 minutes. Next, he let the hair down revealing a slight wave in the back. For the front, he created a center part and pulled the hair loosely behind each ear to create a wave effect on the forehead. He finished with forceful 23 hairspray for a stiff, hard texture.
