Talk about unusual inspirations. The look at Lanvin was based on, of all things, a girl who just finished scuba diving and had pulled her hair back into a ponytail!

“This look is quite different from last season’s look. There are a few sporty pieces in the collection, so we wanted to play on that and create a wet, low ponytail—as if a girl had just finished scuba diving or swimming,” said backstage stylist and Redken Creative Consultant, Guido Palau. “This is something most women have actually worn when they are rushing out of the shower to work.”

To craft the style, he dampened hair thoroughly with water sprayed from a bottle before working Redken hardwear 16 super strong gel from roots to ends. Next, he pulled the hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck, with no discernible part. Finally, he combed through the ponytailed hair with his fingers and sprayed it with vinyl glam 02 mega shine spray for a glossy finish.
