Three takes on simple and natural, courtesy of Redken Creative Consultant Guido Palau:
Akris
To create the natural, modern-chic hairstyle at Akris, Guido center parted clean, damp hair then applied Body Full Volume Amplifier to the scalp and blow dried the hair straight at the roots, leaving the rest to dry naturally. Next, he tucked the hair on the sides of the head behind the ears and sprayed powder refresh 01 aerosol hair powder/dry shampoo from the mid-lengths to ends. He finished with a bit of powder grip 03 mattifying hair powder on the ends to create texture. “The look is very simple; but it’s a new modern way of wearing the hair. It’s very clean, natural and very pure, counterbalancing the rich clothing,” said the stylist of the finished look.
Celine
“The look today at Celine is a little bit sixties inspired. I’m using lots of hair extensions and creating a deep side part swept over the face like a bang,” said Guido of the retro modern style he created for the show by applying a small amount of guts 10 root targeted spray foam on clean, dry roots to give just a bit of lift at the crown of the head. Next, he created a very deep, left side part so that the hair covered the forehead. He tucked the hair on the right side behind the ear and then pulled a piece from the tucked section out and let it fall over the ear. He applied wax blast 10 high impact finishing spray-wax on the ends of the hair to create texture and control and finished with quick dry 18 instant finishing spray for hold.
Sacai
At Sacai, Guido created a messy ponytail by applying wool shake 08 gel-slush texturizer and blow dried with a flat, boar bristle brush. Next, he created an imperfect center part and pulled the hair into a low ponytail secured with an elastic. He shook a small amount of powder grip 03matifyng hair powder into his hands and worked it into the roots and crown, undoing some of the hair at the top to create a rumpled effect. He finished by pulling out a few face-framing wisps and spraying them with forceful 23 super strength finishing spray. “The inspiration for this look was a young girl who’s a little naïve and never cut her hair before. I added extensions so the hair was very long and then pulled it back into a messy ponytail. The girl is innocent with an edge. It’s a kind of dark innocence, though. A young Gothic look,” said Guido of the finished style.
