Roberto Cavalli’s spring/summer 2011 collection marks the design house’s 40th anniversary. In celebration, Redken Creative Consultant Guido Palau came up with this stick straight, center-parted look. “The collection has a 1970s vibe that references Cavalli’s start in the business, so we came up with a retro style that pays homage to that time but still looks modern and cool today,” says Palau of the hippie-like hair do. To create the style, Palau began with a messy center part, then wet the hair and applied Redken align 12 protective straightening balm throughout. Next, he blew the hair straight then smoothed it further with a flat iron. He attached a length of extension hair just below the crown area and ironed again to blend the extended hair with the natural. He finished off with a spritz of vinyl glam 02 mega shine spray for separation and shine.
