At Alberta Ferretti’s Fall 2010 show, Redken Creative Consultant Guido Palau balanced the ultra feminine designs of the collection with a textured, side-parted bun inspired by “dark romanticism”. To create the look, Palau began by applying Redken Thickening Lotion 06 Body Builder on damp hair before blowing it dry. Next, he parted the hair deeply on the side, secured it in a low ponytail and backcombed to create texture. He pinned the hair into a loose low bun and pulled out random pieces for an undone look. Finally, he swept the front section of hair over the eyes and glued it to the forehead with Redken Forceful 23 Super Strength Finishing Spray. A blast of the same all over secured the finished style in place. Said Palau of the final look, “I wanted to create a slight veil over the face and eyes with the front section for a haunted look, more Tim Burton, that still looks romantic but dark in a sinister way.”
