Q. What is a professional, yet attractive style for a 55-year old business woman?

A. I love the look of a tailored bob. Have it cut right at the hairline in back (so it swings) and just below the jaw line in front. It always looks neat and crisp. It flows and bounces and looks great for every occasion, from work to play. Plus, it’s quick and easy to maintain for the busy woman on the go.

I need a best cut for a 55 year old professional woman (nurse that does many presentations). I have been coloring my gray, almost white hair, since I have been 18. I have an oval face but am beginning to get the “jowls” which I can’t stand( I tried a shorter hair style which really accentuated them). I am 5’6″ tall and weigh 127 lbs. My hair is shoulder length now but does not look tailored enough for what I am doing. At this stage of life my hair is porous but can be tamed with conditioners. I have naturally wavy hair, any bangs etc. tend to flip upward. I read your answer concerning returning to gray and may try it. If I can maintain a professional look. The tailored bob looks professional yet feminine, but I’m afraid it may accentuate that “jowl” look. Any suggestions?? Any clothing suggestions?? Glasses suggestions??
