Q. What’s the best medium to short style for fine, wavy hair?
Sarah Nicholson; Amarillo, TX
A. Finding your best hair look often comes down to a combination of personal and workplace style dictates. Conservative ladies can take a cue from the very polished “Classic Bob”. The maintenance is as easy as a 10-minute blowdry in the morning. Or, go au naturel by adding a dollop of mousse and allowing it to air dry. The most important thing is to choose the right length. Chin length works well on oval and heart shaped faces. For a round or full face, choose a length that falls below the chin. It actually elongates and slims!
If you’re ready for a short cut with a little more spice, you have a couple of options: Short hair with short, messy layers (for some excellent examples, do an internet search for “Kiera Knightly” and “short hair”) or a combination of short and long layers (think Meg Ryan and her many pixie-inspired styles) are fairly easy to maintain. Just remember to book a trim every four to six weeks to keep the shape looking fresh and neat.

want to know best cut for fine hair?
For fine hair stick with a strong shape. Shoulder length and shorter work well to maintain density. Try not to add too much layering. For a chin length cut, the swing bob (or stacked bob) is fabulous. If you want a look that is super low maintenance try pixie for a wash, gel and go look. Remember the longer the hair the more likely it is to actually look thin. Perms are also coming back into style but, more along the lines of soft and wavy, not crunchy, curly, frizzy. I hope this helps ya out!
