Q. What’s the best way to get more body in my straight, fine hair? Michele Stavola; Zephyrhills, FL
A. Body boosting techniques vary depending on how you wish your final style to look. First, start with a volumizing shampoo and a light conditioner. If you prefer the straight, sleek look with some bounce and height, apply a spray-on root-lifter to damp, towel dried hair. (You will fall in love with Regis’s own DesignLINE Root Boost Volumizing Foam—it’s my ultimate fave.) Next, add a pea-size amount of anti-frizz serum to the mid-lengths and ends of your hair and blowdry using a large round brush for smoothness. (FYI: The hair should wrap around the barrel of the brush just once, any more and the brush is too small) . Set your blower to medium heat to keep flyaways in control (high heat actually promotes strays and pop-up sprigs). To add curl, follow these same steps, then working in sections, spritz a thermal boosting spray on dry hair before wrapping it around a curling iron. Regis’s DesignLINE Thermal Boost Spray has heat sensitive memory and leaves your coils soft, never stiff.
