Chase Crawford
REEL As Nate Archibald on Gossip Girl (Mondays at 9 p.m., CW), Crawford sports a layered shag with long bangs. To style, rake a dab of grooming paste through towel-dried hair, “for just enough texture that hair looks slightly unkempt,” Arrojo says. (We like American Crew Classic Defining Paste.) Part hair low on the side and blow-dry, using a paddle brush to coax bangs across the face.
REAL Crawford’s out-on-the-town hair has “a much piecey-er, unfinished look,” Arrojo says. To get it, apply PureOlogy Powerdressing Style Cream to damp hair and let air-dry. Then separate and emphasize a few sections with a texture paste such as Sebastian Craft Clay.
Eric Dane
REEL Dane’s “McSteamy” look on Grey’s Anatomy (Thursdays at 9 p.m., ABC) is a classic tapered cut that’s slightly grown out. It’s almost wash-and-wear, but “to help the hair retain softness and gentle movement, I’d recommend using a hair cream,” Arrojo says. We like Kenra Platinum Grooming Pomade 4.
REAL When not playing a doctor on TV, Danes goes shorter, but since his hair is not buzzed too close, it still has styling potential. “A small dab of texture paste could spike it up a bit and play into that natural wave he has,” Arrojo says. Try Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Styling Wax.
David Boreanaz
REEL This classic cut-long on top, short on the sides-is so versatile, Boreanaz wears it both on-screen, as FBI Agent Seeley Booth on Bones (Thursdays at 9 p.m., Fox), and off. Get the spiky front with the proper styling product. If your hair is thick, try a strong-hold gel such as American Crew Firm Hold Styling Gel. For medium to fine hair, a texture paste, such as Redken Rough Paste, will support the look.
REAL Regular maintenance is a must, Arrojo says: “Make sure the sides, over the ears and around the back are trimmed regularly to keep this style looking crisp and sharp.”
John Krasinski
REEL To portray Jim Halpert on The Office (Thursdays at 9 p.m., NBC) Krasinski wears his full bangs on his face. It’s a look that’s “young and charmingly disheveled,” Arrojo says. To give the style a little control and keep it from falling flat, work a bit of Regis DESIGNLINE Texture Cream through damp hair from roots to ends before blow-drying bangs forward.
REAL “Taking the hair away from the face recalls Old Hollywood glamour,” says Arrojo. To achieve this effect, slick back and shape hair with a product such as Sebastian Gel Forte, which also adds shine and definition.
