Last week I attended the Premiere Orlando International Beauty Event, a hair skin and nail show that attracts the top talent in the industry. All the greats were there, including my hero, Takashi Kitamura, the Japanese-born art director of A Robert Cromeans Salon and a member of the brilliant Paul Mitchell artistic team. Kitamura cuts hair like a samurai swings a sword—the shears and blades move so fast you almost don’t see them, but the effect is always killer. He’s like a rock star to me. Whenever I run into him in person, I turn into a total groupie. I just have to shake his hand.
