hero_250x3001Models at DKNY rocked a sixties schoolgirl vibe in oversized wool coats, cardigans, turtlenecks and pleated skirts. Highlighted side ponytails, courtesy of Wella Professionals lead colorist Eva Scrivo and global creative director Eugene Souleiman, struck just the right back to school note. Scrivo and her team hand painted extensions within the natural color palette of the models’ hair (which ranged from medium brown to a spectrum of blonde shades). Over in the styling department, Souleiman primed damp hair with Wella System Professional Volumagic, a natural hold body-boosting styling foam, and blow dried with a large round brush to create a soft wave. He wove the extensions into the hair, placing the paler pieces in the front where the sun would lighten the strands naturally. Next, he parted the hair on the side and fastened it onto a low side ponytail, leaving the hair on the opposite side of the ponytail soft around the face to balance the asymmetry of the look. A bit of Wella System Professional Hypercurl, smoothed lightly on the length of the ponytail, added separation and texture. As far as I’m concerned, the finished style earned an A+.
